If this is going to be a Turning Point, it has to start with us.

I am not sure there is any modern man in America who proclaimed the Gospel more consistently, directly, and effectively than Charlie Kirk. People have called him the greatest modern evangelist since Billy Graham. And they’re right.

Charlie taught us that the Great Commission is not bound by the politics of the day. He fought the culture war because he recognized it as the primary spiritual battlefield of our time. The ideology behind the LGBT and ANTIFA movements is an ancient enemy of God. It opposes all that is good and right, and Charlie knew that. He carried the torch for us all and never thought twice about the consequences. When I heard the news, I got on my knees and prayed harder than I have for years. I wept for the passing of a good man.

Today, after church, I am feeling more emboldened than ever before.

Erika’s post on the day of the shooting really resonated with me. My initial thought was how wholesome and ironic it was that both Charlie and Erika spent that morning publicly praising God.

But the more I read through her feed, the more shame bubbled in my heart. The Kirks didn’t just happen to preach the Gospel on the day of Charlie’s martyrdom; they did it every single day. To my shame, I cannot say the same.

When the time came for Christ to take Charlie home, he was doing what he always does: Sharing the Gospel. He kept his lamp burning.

Build the America Charlie Dreamed About

I want to encourage the young men who feel like they just lost an older brother in the faith. It has been a long time since America has had a true Christian martyr, and the experience hurts. It’s supposed to hurt; death is indeed our greatest foe. It may prove to be a generational-defining pain. When a life like Charlie’s is extinguished by such reckless evil, it forces us to address hard truths. I pray that the feelings we have now will never dull.

Remember, though, Charlie’s true victory was not only political; it was also spiritual. There is overlap, and we need to find our courage to take decisive political action, but most importantly, we must ground our lives in Christ. He wasn’t just “owning the libs” or winning arguments; he was sharing the Gospel in the heart of enemy territory.

He dove into the arena that so many pastors held in contempt and came out victorious. Glorious, even. Charlie showed more courage and conviction than most of the church leaders we grew up following. He gave us a path to follow and uncompromisingly kept us from indulging in extremism. That wealth of wisdom at his age is commendable; it is our duty to internalize and share it.

We have to move forward from this and demand more from ourselves and the Church. The age of winsome, third-way evangelical political engagement is over. Kellerism, as a political model, didn’t work. Christianity Today has apostasized. It’s time for a robust, muscular, joyful, unapologetically and explicitly Ring Wing Christian political engagement paradigm to take root in thousands of churches across the country.

We also need to demand more of ourselves. This, of course, starts at home. Rebel against the fruitless, androgynous spirit of the age by marrying a noble woman and bringing an army of God-fearing children into the world. Part of why they hated Charlie so much is that he lived the proper example of a virtuous life. His light was too bright; a testament indeed. A good wife is a crown on the head of the Christian man. Find one.

So get married. Then have children. Lots of children. And raise them to be bold in their faith and confront evil where it hides. Teach your boys that dragons exist. As C.S. Lewis put it, “since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.” Charlie is our generation’s St. George; make sure to tell his story.

Encourage the State and Society to Punish Evil Properly

While we must put Christ first and build our own homes and churches, it cannot stop there. The Left needs to be destroyed. And Christians need to find the stomach and the spine to support this.

The Left must be driven out of political power and polite society. Not because we hate them, but because we righteously hate the demonic ideologies upon which they have built their entire political program. The political structures they built need to be razed to the ground, the earth salted beneath their feet. We are Christian men of the West, and we will not allow the gates of hell to consume our children. Confront evil, absolutely, but do so with the virtues of wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance.

The Left has been able to operate unopposed for so long that they have forgotten what opposition looks like. They freely advocate for further violence, more assassinations. A shocking number of these people work for schools, hospitals, and our government. Their supervisors should be aware of their activities, and public pressure should mount until they have no livelihood. Force them to wander the nation on their bellies, consuming the dust of the earth. Social shaming is a powerful weapon that Christians need to start deploying.

Members of these organizations should be terrified to express these extreme opinions. This is the only way to stamp it out. Yes, many pastors will clutch their pearls over political intervention; no, we don’t care anymore. This is the moderate option; wielding political power means tangible punishment for those who publicly advocate for evil.

But a word of caution: Do not allow your righteous anger to be perverted by evil. There is no place, no reason, for violence. The culture war was always a far more preferred and Biblical option than a shooting war. We are winning this spiritual battle; that is Charlie’s legacy. Men, don’t let your brothers next to you harbor thoughts of violence. Don’t let them radicalize in a rotten direction. Exhort them and orient them to Christ.

An actual second civil war would unleash hell on the United States, and no one would pass through that unscathed. It is a terrible evil that should not be taken lightly. In these moments, when our very bones call out for vengeance, wisdom and temperance have to prevail. Jesus tells us, “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Be wise and work to avoid such a tragic outcome by doubling down on using political power, and not weapons of war, to bring peace to our nation once more.

Be Sons of Issachar: know the times and act in righteousness. Whatever happens next, God has to lead it. But we must be His willing agents.

Remember Charlie Kirk, American Martyr

We honor Charlie by carrying on his legacy. He spent his life in service to God and country, and we will never forget that. He did his part and is now in Glory; it is up to us to build the world he envisioned for his children. The light that he gave should put us to shame and convict us to be better men.

I will end with the words of the martyr John Hus, “Strengthen my spirit, that it may be willing. If the flesh is weak, let Thy grace precede us.” I pray that Charlie’s life galvanizes the hearts of men across America.

God bless you, brother. We will finish what you started.

“O most holy Christ, draw me, weak as I am, after Thyself. For if Thou dost not draw us, we cannot follow Thee. Strengthen my spirit, that it may be willing. If the flesh is weak, let Thy grace precede us; come between and follow, for without Thee we cannot go for Thy sake to cruel death. Give me a fearless heart, a right faith, a firm hope, a perfect love, that for Thy sake I may lay down my life with patience and joy. Amen.”
