Young man, if you are angry, I’m glad. Now, find the cause.
The death of Charlie Kirk has stirred me deeply, and many of you as well. A martyr has been struck down for the dangerous act of telling the truth. In times of deception, telling the truth is the most courageous thing a man can do.
You may be angry, and you have the right to be. I am angry too. But you will need more than anger.
We war not against flesh and blood but against demonic principalities and powers. So, here’s my advice. Find the cause. Find. The. Cause. Is that not what David said in ancient Israel when the giant Goliath taunted the armies of the living God? Is there not a cause? (1 Samuel 17:29, NKJV).
We fight not with guns and swords. Those who use such things on the innocent are weak and wicked. The weak and wicked stab young girls on trains. The weak and wicked spray bullets into a church filled with praying children. The weak and wicked gun down unarmed men from 200 yards away because they don’t like what they are saying. We are armed with the truth and with courage. Charlie Kirk told the truth to power, and they didn’t like it. We need 10,000 men who will have the courage to speak the truth to demons.
Feminism is a lie. Abortion is built on lies. Transgenderism is a lie. The whole sexual revolution is a lie. Marxism is a lie. Materialism is a lie. Socialism and Communism are lies. Powerful people and powerful demons hate the truth most of all. Be defiant. Tell the truth and live for the truth.
First, you must find the cause in your own life. Jesus is King. Bend the knee, bow your head, and confess Him as Lord. Become a student of his word. Go to church. Pray. Take communion. These are acts of spiritual war.
Quit looking at porn; it is the devil’s tool to emasculate you. Find a girl, take a knee, and start something big. Have children. Protect them, provide for them, and play the man. Quit wasting time on trivialities. Quit playing stupid games. Start a family. Build a life. Be the man.
Then find the cause of your life. What is it God made you to do? What has He created you for? There is a war afoot, a war for men’s souls and a war for our culture. Fuel your anger. Find the cause. Tell the truth. Take a stand.
Charlie Kirk died a glorious death. He was living for a grand purpose, far greater than mere politics, and he was armed with the courage of his convictions and the commitment to tell the truth. This is what the devil fears most, an army of convictional, courageous leaders who will not shrink from battle.
This is no time to retreat. This is no time to play it safe. This is the moment to rise and live for what matters despite the hate and opposition.
This violence is the shrieking of a fearful foe in retreat. It is a desperate act of liars whose lies are being exposed for what they are. Like the rioters in Ephesus, their idols are in danger and their livelihood is threatened, so they strike as only cowards can.
Do not fear what man can do to you; fear God alone. From the martyr’s blood, may God raise an army that will act with courage and play the man.
There will be those who tell us we need to de-escalate the passions of the time. Nonsense. We need escalation. I speak not of an escalation of violence with the weapons of the weak, but an escalation of courage, an escalation of truth-telling and idol smashing. An escalation of hope. An escalation of believing that young people are worth speaking to, and if properly informed and courageously transformed, they can change the world.
When they try to make us run and hide, that is when we speak all the louder.
Perhaps our broken nation can begin again. Perhaps the greatest era of true evangelism and Christian advance is yet to come. Perhaps the spiritual awakening so many have prayed for and dreamed of may yet be upon us. May the martyr’s blood become the seed for a multitude of truthtellers who fear God alone.
Charlie Kirk’s death is, on one level, a terrible tragedy. We weep for his young children and wife. Yet, on a greater plain, his death is a triumph. Every Christian knows what happened after the cross. God does His greatest work while the demons are laughing and dancing.
At least now we know. We can no longer equivocate as if we are dealing with mere differences of opinion in some social tension or political debate.
This isn’t about right or left, conservative or liberal, for the old alignments are irrelevant now.
This is about right and wrong, this is good versus evil, this is the truth versus lies. Now we know. Now you see it, don’t you?
So, the time for playacting and pacifying is over. Find the cause. Give your life to something that matters. Tell the truth even when the crowd doesn’t want to hear it, especially when they don’t want to hear it. Speak it with love, speak it with joy, but speak it with courage. No bullet can silence the truth if we choose courage over fear.
So, young man, if you are angry, I’m glad. Now find the cause.
Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
to serve the King of kings!
